Seattle Arboretum Engagement Session
I am so excited to share this beautiful engagement session! I met Jordan last winter while recovering from a hip injury. He works as physical therapist and he was kind enough to work with me to help get back in running shape. Over many of our sessions, we passed time discussing travel and our shared love of Hawaii.
One day, while doing therapy with him he let it slide that he was recently engaged. Of course the photographer in me shared his excitement and I reminded him that I was running a contest for a free photography session - and to enter!
Jordan ended up being one of the winners, and I was excited to meet Jordan and his fiance Kaecie at the Washington Park Arboretum to create a memorable engagement session.
The realities of life meant it was a while before they were able to actually schedule their session, but that actually made the session that much more memorable because they scheduled at one of the most beautiful times of the year - fall.
After searching the best place to capture the fall colors, they landed on the Washington Park Arboretum which paid off! We chose the weekend prior Halloween hoping for the best chance of color before the typical November wind storm stripped the leaves off the trees. Despite a pessimistic forecast for good fall color, the stretch of hot weather earlier in the year paid off - we lucked out and found some amazing oranges and yellows.
The Arboretum has so many great shooting locations, it was hard to choose just one. Adding to the fun, Jordan and Kaecie brought their adorable fur baby which provided additional opportunities to take unique shots by including Lucy into their session.
I am so thankful that even though we had rain all day, when it was time for their sesion the weather gave us a reprieve. We were able to stroll through the arboretum at a leisurely pace and find perfect places to create portraits to mark the occasion.
